West Bengal's cool winter weather will remain unchanged for the next seven days
Temperatures may drop slightly
Kolkata temperatures will be around 15 degrees Celsius
December has brought a true winter chill across West Bengal, with both south and north parts of the state feeling the cold bite. Alipore weather office says this pleasant cool spell will continue for the next 7 days, with temperatures likely to drop a bit more. Days will stay clear and sunny, while nights and mornings turn nicely chilly, perfect for pulling out warm clothes. Yesterday, Kolkata witnessed a low of 15.8 degrees Celsius (0.3 degrees below normal)) and maximum temperature of 25.8 degrees Celsius (1.2 degrees below normal) giving residents that real winter vibe they've been waiting for since early December.
For the next few days in Kolkata, minimum temperatures should be around 15 degrees and maximum temperatures should stay around 26 degrees, with mostly clear skies and light morning fog that clears up by afternoon. Western districts will be cooler, dipping to 11-13 degrees at night. There's no chance of rain to spoil the dry, crisp weather, and big changes in temperature are unlikely for the next seven days.
This stable pattern means people can plan outdoor activities or travel plans without worrying about sudden showers. North Bengal as usual will stay more colder, with hill stations like Darjeeling dropping to around 4 degrees. Dense fog warnings are out for five North Bengal districts, which could reduce visibility and make driving tricky in the mornings. Malda along with Uttar and Dakshin Dinajpur will witness minimum temperature between 15-16 degrees. Overall, the state is set for a proper winter week ahead.
